What are Remote Year Journeys?
Journeys are immersive, two-week destination retreats that give you the opportunity to put your typical day-to-day life on pause to allow for transformative personal and professional growth. Participants live amongst a vibrant community in an inspiring foreign city, with access to programming and micro-experiences that provide a taste of what life is like on a full Remote Year program.
Journeys provide a structured path to an ultimate goal, whether that’s figuring out how to transition to a remote work lifestyle or pursuing one’s life purpose. Embedded into the experience is the freedom to discover and explore the host city—places that have the potential to awaken creativity, ignite curiosity, and jumpstart meaningful change.
We’ve launched Journeys with the hope of sharing some of that “Remote Year magic” with people who may feel like our 4-month and 12-month programs aren’t an option for them. Think of Remote Year Journeys as your first step toward taking control of your life and pursuing the things that are truly important to you. It’s a chance to test the waters and get a feel for what your days could look like if you fully embraced a flexible, fulfilling lifestyle.
What is the difference between Journeys and Remote Year?
Remote Year consists of 4- and 12-month work and travel programs, providing a platform for the remote work lifestyle with the support of a vibrant community. In contrast, Journeys are concentrated, 2-week experiences that drive transformative personal and professional growth through inspiring experiences, intentional workshops, and sessions.
Think of Journeys as dipping your toe in the water of a remote lifestyle, and Remote Year as taking the plunge into the ocean. Participants are able to test out what it could be like to be a part of a Remote Year community all while developing skills and discovering passions that may have been lying dormant in typical day-to-day life.
What will I get out of Journeys?

A Remote Year Journey is just as much a personal and individualized voyage as it is collective experience. 1-on-1 coaching and mentorship is available to all participants, whether it comes from life and career coaches, or experienced remote workers who have been there, done that.
You’ll leave the retreat with a framework that is specific to your distinct passions and talents. You’ll have an action plan that outlines how to go from idea to execution, instilling confidence in your next steps after your two-week Journey culminates. We won’t promise that it will be easy. Personal development requires you to dig deep with the intention of unearthing which path you’re meant to go down, either in the vein of pursuing purpose, or navigating the world of remote work.
