About the Program

Colombia has been popping up as a “must see country” on many lists over the last year. Spending a month in this magical country you will definitely see why. Colombia really has it all. One of the most diverse ecosystems in South America, during your month in Colombia you can visit tropical beaches, rolling green mountains and picturesque traditional villages. Colombia's very tragic and dangerous history is noticeably contrasted with its current state as an up-and-coming hub of creativity, lifestyle, and entrepreneurship.

Why Medellín in July

Medellin is dubbed the land of eternal spring with pleasant weather year round. You can expect warm days cooled down with an occasional rain shower. July is the month of one of Colombia’s biggest holidays, Independence Day, which celebrates Colombia's independence from Spain.  Around July 20th you can expect parades and parties throughout the country, with many locals celebrating by listening to traditional folk music and dancing. Plan to hit the streets and join the friendly Paisas (Medellin locals) in the big celebration.
