Remote Year does not provide our participants with jobs for the program. Each participant is required to have their own professional plans worked out when joining a program in order for them to afford to stay on the program. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t be of some help!
If you don’t currently work remotely but your job is fit for it, we can help talk to your manager to transition your role with our Enterprise Solutions Process.
We do understand that not all jobs can be transitioned into remote roles, so if you’re looking for a new job that allows you to work remotely, you can use this handy resource we put together.
Committing to a Remote Year program means that you are joining a community that follows one of our predetermined itineraries for the length of your choosing. We believe that having group-based itineraries allows people to experience all the magic of the Remote Year community - which most past participants rate as their favorite part of the experience, so this means the city choice and order in which you visit cities cannot be customized for each individual participant.
Even so, you are able (and encouraged) to go on your own side-trips throughout the program and can make use of our travel team to help plan accordingly. You can learn more about this here ➡️Do I have to travel with the program the entire time?
The entire cost of a Remote Year program is broken up into several parts: the down payment and a monthly payment that is paid over the course of your program. The down payment is paid when you officially commit to a Remote Year program and secures your spot. The monthly payment is a fee paid at the beginning of every month as you land at each stop on your itinerary. The fee covers everything included in that city and can be thought of as "paying rent" except instead of just covering for your accommodations, you're also getting flights, workspace, events and programming, a community, on-site support, and much much more.
The payment structure is the same across all of our programs but the actual cost varies depending on the type of program itinerary you choose. Additionally, we have payment plans you can take advantage of — just ask your Program Consultant for more information.
The requirements to join a program are simply being an adult with working english proficiency in some kind of professional pursuit. As a result, we’ve had over 2,000 professionals of various ages, nationalities, backgrounds and industries of join Remote Year and all program communities end up a little different.
