"If I went into Remote Year knowing what I would get out of it...I would sign up for it 5 times over, 10 times over... I would just do it for the rest of my life!"

Remote Year Reviews

What people say about their Remote Year experience

This is what being a #DigitalNomad is all about. . Really understanding the concept of work hard, play hard as well as keeping the best work/life balance. . Knowing that if a place has WiFi, then it’s a viable option for a place for work. If there is food, coffee, and wine...we hit the jackpot! . I was FaceTiming with a good friend the other night talking about my experiences so far traveling around the world this year. . It really got me thinking about why I’m doing it, where I’m going with it, how I’m doing it, and how long will I be going with it. . Not to create a very long post, but it made me think so much about the amount of growth I’ve experienced in a short 4 months. . I’m doing something not many or maybe any of my friends before #RemoteYear have done so I know for many, the concept of working and traveling is mind boggling...it seems crazy...it’s not something in the cards... . But I ask you...when was the last time you really challenged yourself? When is the last time you’ve reflected on your life and said to yourself that something must change? When is the last time you jumped into the water with two feet and just said fuck it? . Growth and evolution come when you challenge yourself, when you fail, when you’re uncomfortable and when you open your mind to let it happen. . So what’s the #WiFi password here? #WanderRama #Morocco #Marrakech #Celebration #100Days #Whino #LocationIndependent #thenationturns3

"I was already traveling and working remotely (which I LOVED) but when I saw that I could join a community of like-minded people, it was perfect. Traveling on your own is sometimes too much of a hassle and effort to be making new friends all of the time and to be planning accommodations and flights, with Remote Year it's like we're traveling with an amazing family and everything is pre-planned for you. "The professional growth I’ve experienced while on Remote Year and working remotely would not have been possible at a typical 9-to-5 production job. I have significantly improved and widened my skill set from client management, pitching proposals and scoping contracts to research, copywriting and design."

"I had already been working and traveling before either by myself or with a friend, however to know that there was a group that I could join, make friends with, network with, build business with, get inspired by, learn new skills from, all while traveling the world and enjoying it together with this very group, I personally don't think there is a better opportunity out there than this."

"I'd say that there are no excuses if you really mean to have a 1-year super enlightening experience of actually living in (and not only visiting) so many places and absorbing so many cultures around the world."

"Remote Year is a wily gang of people from all over the world, but despite our differences, they are among the most open minded and good natured people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. It’s certainly a huge part of what makes Remote Year so fun and worth it relative to organizing your own travel around the world, which anyone in theory could do."

"When an opportunity came up for my husband and I to travel together for an entire year, break the pattern and redefine ourselves, as a couple, we just had to take the leap."

"Remote Year became the catalyst for a much-needed life pivot - a means to break free from 'regular programming' and combine both career and personal aspirations with the freedom of global travel."

"I could have done it cheaper or in more desirable cities or with less hassle if I’d done it on my own versus with Remote Year. But I wouldn’t trade the program for anything… not even unlimited, calorie-free empanadas for life. Because none of what I got out of this year — the growth, the change, the memories — would have been possible without the community I built along the way."

"Sure, I could travel abroad by myself for cheaper than Remote Year, but the value of the friendships I have made in (Remote Year) Ikigai and the connections I have made through the Remote Year network at large enrich my experience in the moment, and will continue to do so for years to come. I wouldn’t have it any other way."

"My Remote Year journey and my loving new family taught me how to take care of myself; how to be my own star player and biggest fan. They taught me to love myself; to trust myself and my talents. They helped build my self-esteem. They fortified the confidence, peace and strength within me and in others. I couldn’t have asked for a better year."

"Back in Jersey, I thought I was happy; I thought I was motivated. After just one week on Remote Year I thought, 'How the hell haven't I done this sooner? This is amazing.' I can't imagine going back to that life. I'm the happiest and most inspired I've ever been in my life."

"Remote Year took my entire life and turned it upside-down (in the best way). There’s no such thing as a “typical 9-to-5” here. Every day, I learned more about the world and its people. Every day brought something new: a conversation with a friendly local, bizarre cuisine, cozy workspace in a hidden cafe, skydiving trip before the workday started(!). If I could rewind and live the whole thing again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
